HARK

Privacy Policy

Last updated August 30, 2026.

This Privacy Policy describes how Stella Viae LLC handles data in connection with Hark. The short version: your notes are yours, they stay in your own scope, and we never look at them. The rest of this page explains how the architecture keeps that true.

Your data stays in your scope

Everything you capture with Hark is written as plain document files into a private repository keyed to you. Images go to an asset store in that same scope. There is no shared pool of customer content anywhere in the service: every note, recording, transcript, and image is addressed to exactly one customer, and that customer is you.

What our systems do with your data

Our systems necessarily work with your data to do their job, and that work is automatic, per request, and scoped to you. When you capture a thought, the app sends it over an encrypted connection to an AI model that transcribes, describes, or organizes it, and the result is filed in your repository. To make recall fast, the service keeps a search index derived from your notes. That index lives in a database schema created just for you, accessed by credentials that can reach only your schema, and it can be rebuilt from your files at any time. That is the entire path your data travels.

No one looks at your notes

No person at Stella Viae reads, reviews, or analyzes your content. Not for support, not for debugging, not for product research. The service is built to make that the default rather than a promise we have to keep remembering: our service logs are written to never contain note content, and our usage metering records counts, such as seconds of audio or model tokens, never words. We do not use your content for advertising, sell it, share it for marketing, or use it to train models. We would disclose content from your scope only if the law compelled us to.

AI processing

Transcription, image description, organization, and question answering are performed by third-party AI model providers. Your content passes through a provider only to deliver the feature you invoked, and the result comes straight back into your scope.

Operational data

Separate from your notes, running the service produces sign-in and authentication events, content-free service logs, and usage counts. We use that data to authenticate you, keep the service healthy, secure it, and support you.

Retention and export

Your notes stay in your repository until you delete them. Because they are stored as ordinary document files, export is not a special favor: your data is already in a portable form, and you can take all of it whenever you like. Operational data is retained as long as needed to run the service, comply with legal obligations, and support security needs.

Security

We use measures such as encryption in transit, per-customer keyed storage, access controls, content-free logging, and monitoring to protect the service. No system can be guaranteed perfectly secure.

Your choices

You can export your notes, delete individual notes or your account data, and stop using the service at any time. Specific rights may depend on the laws that apply to you.
